FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- New York Jets running back Breece Hall, who injured his right quadriceps Sunday, is considered week-to-week, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter and the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport on Monday.

There was some sense of relief, as an MRI showed that Hall avoided a long-term injury, a source said. Nevertheless, he likely won't be ready to play Sunday against the Chicago Bears, a blow to the Jets' already struggling rushing attack.

After a 152-yard rushing day in the opener, the Jets (1-2) managed only 67 and 58 yards in Weeks 2 and 3, including only 61 yards on 29 carries (2.1-yard average) for Hall. The Jets will lean heavily on third-year backs Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis while Hall is sidelined.

Injuries are mounting for the Jets, who played without wide receiver Adonai Mitchell (finger) and tight end Mason Taylor (thumb) in Sunday's 31-24 loss to the Detroit Lions. Their status for Sunday is uncertain.

Coach Aaron Glenn provided no update Monday on Hall or left guard Dylan Parham (knee), who also was injured Sunday.

"[The run game] is one area that we have to fix," said Glenn, adding there's an "urgency in trying to make sure that we get that done, because that's been a strong point of ours, especially after the first game. To have these two games to where we didn't run it as well, that's something that we have to dial into to make sure that we get those things fixed."

The Jets identified Hall as a foundational piece on offense, signing him to a three-year, $43.5 million extension in the offseason. He missed three weeks in training camp due to a strained groin but came out hot in the opener with a 102-yard, one-touchdown game in the 23-10 win over the Tennessee Titans.

On his 13th and final carry in Detroit, Hall was tackled out of bounds early in the fourth quarter and rolled over in pain, clutching his right thigh.

After the game, Hall said he "felt something when I was running and then got tackled and planted and then felt something else."
