The Jacksonville Jaguars and wide receiver Parker Washington are unlikely to agree to a contract extension before the start of the season, a source told NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe.
The Jaguars explored extensions for Washington in the same range as Michael Wilson's recent three-year, $75 million contract with the Arizona Cardinals, the source told Wolfe, but the sides still didn't have a deal as of Saturday night.
Washington, who is coming off a breakout 2025 season and is entering the final year of his rookie contract, is betting on himself in what will be a pivotal 2026.
Washington said this past Wednesday that he was focused on the 2026 season, regardless of the ongoing contract talks.
"To me, my job is to come out here and stay ready to go, just do my job, be the best receiver I can be and make plays for the team," Washington said, according to Jaguars.com. "I'm just focused on me, being the best teammate I can be and having fun out here.
"If we get it done, that's cool. If not, I'm going to go out Sunday and leave my best out there."
Washington, 24, had 58 receptions for 847 yards and five touchdowns -- all career highs -- in 2025. The former sixth-round draft selection also scored two touchdowns as a punt returner last season.
