Stallion Laguna FC broke through into the win column with a 3-0 result Saturday over the Philippine Air Force. Meanwhile, Ceres Negros blasted eight goals past Global Cebu FC in Day 3 of the Philippines Football League.
After suffering a beatdown at the hands of Kaya FC Iloilo in their own Binan Stadium, Stallion rebounded against the Airmen in the same venue. Warren Bedia opening the scoring in the fourth minute and doubled his tally in the 34th minute.
It was all Stallion after the break, with Nate Alquiros hitting the dagger in the 75th minute.
Ceres continued their high-scoring exploits in the league with a 8-0 romp of Global -- with four goals in each half -- at the PFF National Training Center. Spanish striker Bienvenido Maranon led the charge with four goals. Mahir Karic notched a brace, and Mike Ott and Jeffrey Christiaens completed the scoresheet.
With the result, Ceres leapfrogs Kaya FC at the top of the standings by a point, albeit with Kaya with a game in hand. Stallion moves into third, overtaking Green Archers with four points.
Day 4 sees Mendiola and Green Archers match up in the only game of the day on Sunday at the PFF.
