Kevin Mirallas could seek Everton exit in January transfer window

Kevin Mirallas has said he could look for a move in January if he fails to break into the Everton team before the New Year.

Mirallas, 28, has only made one Premier League start in a campaign that has been interrupted by a three-match ban for his September sending-off at Barnsley.

The Belgium international, who signed a new three-year contract in August after saying he was considering his options, had been a regular for most of his first three seasons at Goodison Park but could soon consider if he wants to stay there.

"At this point I see my future at this club, but if I am still in the same situation in January, something will have to happen," he told the Belgian press.

"I have not yet talked to my agent because I am concentrating fully on Everton. But in football you are sometimes faced with situations you did not foresee."

Mirallas, who has scored 29 goals since joining from Olympiakos in 2012, has been sidelined after manager Roberto Martinez bought two wingers, Aaron Lennon and Gerard Deulofeu, in the summer and the in-form Spaniard is starting on the right.

Striker Arouna Kone and midfielder Steven Naismith, who both have Premier League hat tricks to their name this season, have tended to be used on the left.

And Mirallas is worried he could lose his place in the Belgium squad for Euro 2016 if he does not get more football for Everton.

"In relation to the national team I am staying calm because there are still a few months to go," he added.

"But if the situation drags on, I'll be asking questions in January because if I am not playing it will be hard to win a place in the 23 for the European Championship.

"But now I'll try especially hard to become a starter at Everton again. If I do that I see no problem."
