Tottenham winger Andros Townsend considering future - sources

Andros Townsend is considering his future at Tottenham after growing increasingly frustrated at his bit-part role under Mauricio Pochettino, sources have told ESPN FC.

England international Townsend, 24, is concerned that his lack of match action may hinder his chances of playing at next summer's European Championship in France.

Townsend was an unused substitute in Spurs' 3-1 win over Aston Villa on Monday night and showed his frustration in a row with fitness coach Nathan Gardiner during the postmatch warm-down.

Sources have told ESPN FC that a number of clubs -- including Swansea City, Southampton, Newcastle, Aston Villa and West Brom -- are actively monitoring Townsend's situation and could make a move if he becomes available in January when the transfer window reopens.

Tottenham rejected several enquiries for Townsend in the summer, but the player, who has not started a single Premier League game to date this season, could force the issue if his situation does not improve in the coming weeks.
