Werder Bremen's Aaron Hunt admits stumbling in box, asks ref to reverse penalty call

Werder Bremen beat Nurnberg 2-0 in the Bundesliga on Saturday, though it could have been three were it not for Aaron Hunt's admirable display of conscience during the second half.

After Hunt appeared to be sent sprawling by Javier Pinola in the box, the referee awarded a penalty.

However, in a sudden pang of sporting integrity, Hunt confessed to the official that he had merely stumbled through the area past Pinola's wafting limb, after which the penalty call was reversed.

Give that man a pat on the back.

It seems the spirit of fair play was milling around in the air all afternoon as, earlier in the game, Nurnberg's Hiroshi Kiyotake admitted to the referee that his side had been wrongly awarded a corner after the Japanese midfielder touched the ball last before it rolled out of play.

Lovely stuff.
