23.42 GMT Sky Sports are reporting that West Ham look set to win the race to sign AFC United’s teenage sensation Rinor Nushi. Nushi, 16, is considered one of the brightest talents in Swedish football and has attracted interest from clubs such as Arsenal and Juventus. However, it is believed the pacey forward favours a move to Upton Park, having spent a trial period there earlier this season.
"Rinor is attracting a lot of interest and it is unlikely that we will be able to keep him here,” the Stockholm-based club's sporting director Hamid Kavodvand said. "At the moment he prefers West Ham after enjoying his time there, but no deal has been agreed at this stage."
22.42 GMT Alessandro Del Piero has no intention of quitting A-League side Sydney despite their poor run of form which has left them rock bottom of the league table. He told Sky Italia: "These are only rumours about me which have built up after a few negative results. The situation is clear and simple really. I have come to Australia and fully intend to remain here for the next two years, then we will see what will happen."
22.08 GMT Gojko Kacar, 25, and Robert Tesche, 25, will not travel to Hamburg’s training camp and are set to leave the club. Kacar could leave for Hannover, with the deal currently being negotiated, but Tesche has not been linked with another club yet. “Nothing surprises me in Hamburg anymore,” Tesche agent Kopp told welt.de. “I don’t think it’s clever to treat a player you want to get rid of like this.” Hamburg’s director of football Frank Arnesen replied: “Robert and his agent now have a month to find a new club.”
21.28 GMT Former Liverpool defender Andrea Dossena is set to leave Napoli for Palermo with Palermo director of sport Pietro Lo Monaco quoted in Lo Monaco as saying: “There is an agreement with the Napoli player and it will be formalised in the next few hours.”
21.03 GMT French defender Mathieu Debuchy has been spotted in the stands at St James' Park ahead of his move from Lille to Newcastle.
21.02 GMT Edinson Cavani is on the move from Napoli... but not until the end of the season according to agent Mino Raiola, and only a handful of clubs will be in the market for his signature. The Uruguayan striker, 25, has been in fine form again this season and was reportedly the subject of a €55m bid which was rejected in December.
"For now Cavani will stay, but I wouldn’t be so sure about that once June arrives," Raiola told Il Mattino. "I’m sure there are clubs ready to pay that [€63 million buy-out clause] in the summer, but only five clubs in the world can afford to do that - Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester City, Chelsea and Paris Saint Germain. You are intelligent enough on your own to understand where Cavani will play his football next season."
20.33 GMT Reports in Spain suggest that former Chelsea winger Ricardo Quaresma has been offered to Liverpool, Valencia and Marseille by his agent Jorge Mendes. After completing the signing of Daniel Sturridge from Chelsea on Wednesday afternoon Brendan Rodgers will be keen to further strengthen his squad at Anfield and could turn to Quaresma, 29, who is a free agent after leaving Besiktas in December.
19.55 GMT: BREAKING NEWS Alan Pardew has confirmed that Demba Ba's move to Chelsea is close to completion and claimed the Senegalese striker's departure could turn out to be a good thing for Newcastle.
"It's done. He will go to Chelsea with our blessing," Pardew told Sky Sports 1 before kick-off against Everton. "He has done fantastic for us and it's not a bad thing, all the uncertainty is now done and we can move on. This club is bigger than any player for sure."
19.25 GMT: BREAKING NEWS Sky Sports report that Liverpool midfielder Joe Cole is holding talks with West Ham over a potential move. The former Chelsea player would be returning to the club where he began his career, and after mainly being a fringe player at Anfield under Brendan Rodgers the 31-year-old Londoner would relish the chance of first-team football again.
19.03 GMT Inter Milan captain Javier Zanetti says that Wesley Sneijder can still have a future at the club. Sneijder, 28, has been heavily linked to both Tottenham and Liverpool but could end up re-establishing himself at the San Siro according to veteran defender Zanetti who told La Gazzetta dello Sport: "The only one who can decide is him, and he must speak clearly and be honest. If he wants to stay, a solution can be found. I said to him: 'Choose from the heart'. If he comes back and says, 'I am looking ahead for the good of Inter' there will be no problem. But he must be the first not to carry grudges."
18.30 GMT Versatile Chelsea youngster Nathaniel Chalobah has extended his stay with Championship side Watford until the end of the season. Chalobah, 18, made his England Under-21 debut in November and has appeared 18 times for the Hornets this season, under the guidance of Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola.
18.05 GMT Reading are reported to have shown an interest in Newcastle and Inter Milan target Douglas. The FC Twente defender, 24, is out of contract at the end of the season and could be sold by the Dutch club before he leaves on a free.
16.43 GMT: DONE DEAL Kaiserslautern have pipped Bayer Leverkusen to the loan signing of Bayern Munich youngster Mitchell Weiser. Just 6 months after signing Weiser from Cologne, Munich have let the 18-year-old join second-tier Kaiserslautern. "We are delighted that we have been able to sign such a talented young player," said Kaiserslautern chairman Stefan Kuntz.
16.30 GMT: DONE DEAL Stuttgart defender Maza's move to CF America is now complete. Stuttgart director of sport Fredi Bobic has said of the move: "As the captain he wants to lead Mexico to the World Cup in Brazil, therefore needs more playing time." Maza added, "I had a great time in Stuttgart, but now i am looking forward to returning home with my family. The focus is now on the 2014 World Cup".
16.15 GMT: Sir Alex Ferguson has once again dismissed reports linking Manchester United with Borussia Dortmund stiker Robert Lewandowski as "nonsense." Dortmund chief executive Hans Watzke has ruled out any chance of Lewandowski moving this month, but the Bundesliga champions may be forced to sell in the summer as the Polish striker’s contract expires in 2014.
16.00 GMT: DONE DEAL Fortuna Dusseldorf have announced the signing of Norwegian winger Mathis Bolly from Lillestrom. Bolly has penned a contract keeping him in Germany until 2016.
15.55 GMT: Soccernews.com are reporting that Spurs are the latest team to show interest in Barcelona forward David Villa. Numerous Premier League clubs including Arsenal and Liverpool have been linked with the Spanish international. But it is unclear where Spain's all-time leading goalscorer will be, come the end of the month.
15.45 GMT: Sunderland goalkeeper Simon Mignolet will snub a transfer to Arsenal in order to continue playing first team football according to Sunderland-mad.co.uk. The Belgian International is quoted as saying: "I am trying to avoid all the rumours at the minute. I am happy with things. I am only 24, so the most important thing for me is to continue playing in the Sunderland first team and gain more experience."
15.30 GMT: Guardian-series.co.uk are reporting that West Ham are close to signing Joe Cole from Liverpool. The England international has 18 months left on his contract at Anfield, but it appears he'll be returning to the club where he made his name.
15.30 GMT: DONE DEAL Kilmarnock have announced the signing of Ibrahim Rabiu from Celtic. Kilmarnock manager Kenny Shiels has told BBC Scotland: "We've just signed Rabiu on a two-year contract and we're pleased with that."
15.15 GMT: According to Turkish-football.com Besiktas are interested in a loan move for Chelsea youngster Lucas Piazon. The Brazilian has made just one appearance in the Premier League since his move to West London in the summer.
15.00 GMT: DONE DEAL Liverpool have announced the signing of Chelsea striker Daniel Sturridge via their official twitter account. Sturridge has said: "I am humbled and happy to be here." The 23-year-old continued: "I've signed to be here for as long as possible. It's a humongous club - for me, one of the biggest in the world - and to have the fans and world-class players we have here is amazing."
14.50 GMT: Turkish-Football.com are reporting that Galatasaray are ready to bid for out-of-favour Manchester City defender Joleon Lescott. However, City manager Roberto Mancini still believes the England international has a future at the club.
14.40 GMT: It appears Sevilla will announce the signing of Bosnian winger Miroslav Stevanovic on Thursday. A statement from the club read: "Miroslav Stevanovic has arrived in our city with the intention of signing a contract with Sevilla FC once he completes the relevant medical tests."
Meanwhile, Kicker are reporting that Stuttgart defender Maza will be returning to Mexico to sign with CF America. The deal is just awaiting confirmation.
14.10 GMT: BREAKING NEWS Newcastle United have released a statement on their club website stating that Chelsea have triggered the release clause in Demba Ba's contract. The statement goes onto say: "The Club has given the player permission to speak to Chelsea FC and therefore he will not be included in the squad for tonight's game against Everton."
13.32 GMT: Goal.com are reporting that Dnipro midfielder Derek Boateng is currently undergoing a medical at Fulham, ahead of a permanent move to London. Talks broke down last August, but it now seems the 29-year-old will complete the transfer.
13.30 GMT: DONE DEAL Swansea City's Alan Tate has extended his loan stay at Leeds United until January 26. Leeds manager Neil Warnock said: "That gives us some breathing space and there's time before the transfer window closes. We'll see how that goes."
13.00 GMT: Valencia striker Nelson Valdez says he would be happy to stay at the club beyond the end of his current season long loan from Rubin Kazan. The Paraguay international said: "I have given my word to stay here and the rest must be settled by my agents. I want to stay here but there are some things which must be discussed."
12.55 GMT: DONE DEAL Frankfurt have now confirmed that Norwegian centre-back Vadim Demidov will leave Frankfurt for a loan spell with Spanish club Celta Vigo until the summer. He is on a contract with Frankfurt until 2015.
12.42 GMT: A further word from AC Milan forward Alexandre Pato's agent on his reported move to Brazilian side Corinthians. Gilmar Veloz, told Radio Globo: "He has decided to return to Brazil and that is his final decision."
12.32 GMT: Daily Mail are reporting that Everton midfielder Thomas Hitzlsperger may return to Germany to join Frankfurt when his contract runs out later this month. Meanwhile, Kicker have reported that Vadim Demidov could leave Frankfurt on loan and join Spanish side Celta Vigo - club officials confirmed the rumours in the Spanish press. They have also reported that Marco Russ is set to return to his old club Frankfurt from Wolfsburg on loan until the summer.
12.24 GMT: Blackburn Rovers have completed the signing of Joshua King from Manchester United. The Norwegian has penned a deal keeping him at the club until 2015, with the option of an extra year. King said: "I'm happy to be here and I'm really looking forward to the next two-and-a-half years that I've signed for."
12.18 GMT: Tony Pulis is considering another move for Martin Olsson, after failing to sign the Blackburn defender in the summer. A source close to Olsson said: "Sunderland have an interest and have watched him a few times recently and Stoke are also interested."
12.00 GMT: Hannover sporting director Jorg Schmadtke has confirmed to Bild that his club are interested in signing Arsenal defender Johan Djourou: "I can confirm that name. He is on our list. There have been talks."
11.48 GMT: Lille full-back Mathieu Debuchy is set to spend today in Newcastle as he sets about formalising his move to the Premier League club. The Press Association reports, though, that sources on Tyneside have played down a link with West Brom frontman Peter Odemwingie.
11.37 GMT: David Moyes insists he will not pressure Everton’s board into spending money they don’t have in the chase for Champions League qualification.
“You can’t complain about having no money,” he told the Liverpool Daily Post. “If you don’t have it, that’s it. We don’t have it. If I ask you for a grand out of your pocket you can’t give me a grand. If you’ve not got it, you’ve not got it.”
Which perhaps suggests PSG forward Hoarau is not, in fact, bound for Goodison Park.
11.26 GMT: Bayer Leverkusen chief executive Wolfgang Holzhauser has told Express they are trying to take Bayern Munich youngsters Emre Can and Mitch Weiser on a loan deal. Earlier, Bayern general manager Matthias Sammer and coach Jupp Heynckes had said that Weiser could leave the club on loan during the winter transfer period.
11.16 GMT: Word filters in from ESPN FC contributor, and Brazilian football expert, Chris Atkins that AVB did not, in fact, even imply in his Lancenet interview that Spurs would go back in for Willian. The quotes as they appeared in the Mirror appear to contain a fabrication.
10.59 GMT: Juventus have confirmed that Atalanta defender Federico Peluso, 28, is having medical tests in Turin this morning. The Serie A leaders are set to sign the Italy international for the rest of the season, having failed with a bid in the summer.
10.52 GMT: Wolfsburger Allgemeine Zeitung believes Wolfsburg could be willing to pay €8 million for Kevin De Bruyne, should Chelsea decide to sell in the summer. Wolfsburg’s new general manager, Klaus Allofs, had secured the season-long loan deal for De Bruyne in the summer during his time with Werder Bremen and he had earlier told Sky Sports News: "I'm pretty familiar with the contract details. When his contract with Werder Bremen runs out at the end of the season and we have the chance to sign him, we will of course make an approach. I think he is a very good player.”
10.38 GMT: PSG boss Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed Hoarau is in discussions with another club but said the transfer is not yet official. You'll note, from 10.25 GMT, that Everton and Sunderland have been linked.
10.33 GMT: Wolfsburg are apparently keen to sign Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ivan Perisic. The 23-year-old Croatia international could move for a fee of around €7 million, reports suggest.
10.25 GMT: RMC in France believes Everton and Sunderland are keen to sign PSG striker Guillaume Hoarau.
10.10 GMT: Hearts manager John McGlynn has revealed Australia full-back Ryan McGowan is poised to leave the club amid rumours he is bound for China. “The club have accepted a bid for Ryan so he won't play any part in the game tomorrow,” McGlynn said. “He's not put pen to paper. It's disappointing to lose him but if good offers come in we need to accept them.”
09.54 GMT: It appears Tottenham could go back in for a couple of Brazilian stars. Andre Villas-Boas in Lancenet, via the Daily Mirror: “We got in touch with Willian and he is one of the players that interests us. I like his style, but we could not reach the value Shakhtar were asking. It does not mean we won’t try again. Shakhtar are a difficult club to negotiate with as they do not need the money and can keep their players
“For Damiao, he had a spectacular Olympics. We follow the best players and youngsters. Leandro fits this profile. He has had injuries after London 2012, but he is a player that is always on our list.”
09.51 GMT: Zorc also told Bild Mario Gotze will be staying put: “Mario Gotze feels at home at Dortmund. There is no indication this will change anytime soon. Mario is an exceptional player - and only 20.”
09.45 GMT: Borussia Dortmund general manager Michael Zorc has told Bild the German champions would be open to a deal to re-sign Nuri Sahin. The Real Madrid midfielder has been on loan at Liverpool but, as you may have read below, Brendan Rodgers isn’t that keen to keep him. Zorc said: “Of course we follow Nuri’s career. He is our boy. He has to play a position which is not his best at Liverpool. We have said that, if Nuri says he does not want anything else but to play for Dortmund, this will become an issue for us, but it has to be financially doable. Nothing has changed.”
09.40 GMT: Sky Sports sources understand Theo Walcott is set to meet with Arsenal today for the latest round of talks over his contract. The striker - as he likes to be known - is of course out of contract in the summer.
09.31 GMT: Metalist Kharkiv attacking midfielder Taison, 24, claims he has been to visit Chelsea. He told Diario Popular: "I went to England (some weeks ago) just to take a look. I talked to the president ... I see Oscar, who I played alongside at Internacional, and I want to play with him again."
09.25 GMT: Pato appears very close to joining Corinthians. His agent, Gilmar Veloz, told Radio Gaucha on Tuesday: “Tomorrow we have scheduled a meeting with [AC Milan vice-president] Adriano Galliani and we hope to seal the deal. Whatever Milan asked for Corinthians have agreed to pay. It will be a permanent deal - no one loans a 23-year-old player.”
09.20 GMT: Calcio Mercato moots the possibility Inter Milan could sign Frank Lampard as a replacement for Wesley Sneijder. Given that Sneijder's high wages would appear to be the problem for Inter, it appears unlikely.
08.30 GMT: DONE DEAL We've only just got back to work after the Christmas festivities and already we have our first deal of the day! Manchester United's Chile international striker Angelo Henriquez has completed his loan move to Wigan Athletic on a deal until the end of the season.
Inter Milan are prepared to offer Nuri Sahin a lifeline as Liverpool appear certain to offload the midfielder in January. A report in the Daily Mail claims the Reds are looking to cancel Sahin's loan period from Real Madrid early, and Brendan Rodgers may therefore be able to use interest from Inter to his advantage. Rodgers, meanwhile, is said to be keen on Palermo midfielder Josip Ilicic as an immediate replacement.
Arsenal are weighing up a move for Atletico Madrid front-man Adrian Lopez, according to the Daily Mirror. The Spain international is reportedly available during the current transfer window, however Arsene Wenger is understood to be balking at his £14 million buy-out clause. Adrian is seeking pastures new in order to gain more playing time as he sits behind the in-form Radamel Falcao in Atletico's pecking order. The deal may hinge on whether the Gunners can offload Marouane Chamakh by the end of the month.
Peter Odemwingie is viewed by Newcastle as the ideal replacement for Demba Ba, should the striker depart for Chelsea. The Sun states that negotiations took place on Tuesday evening between the clubs, and Alan Pardew is close to sealing a £3 million deal for Odemwingie's services. The 31-year-old almost exited the Baggies last summer and is said to be ready to move on after spending more than two seasons at the club.
