Bristol today agreed a three-year sponsorship deal with Bass Ale worth £2million.
The arrangement will see Bass Ale branding on Bristol's team shirts and official Bristol merchandise, as well as banners and signage at the club's Memorial Ground.
Interbrew UK, owners of Bass Ale, will take over as the main supplier of beer to the 10 bars at the Memorial Ground and the clubhouse terrace will be renamed `The Bass Stand'.
With the previous four-year agreement with Mitsubishi now over, the west country outfit will no longer be known as the Shoguns and reverts to the previous title of Bristol Rugby Club.
Bristol director Nigel Pomphrey said: ``This is marvellous news. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Mitsubishi for their support and we are proud of the help we have been able to provide to their marketing effort.
``Bass is an excellent brand to be associated with - I've been drinking it for the last 30 years - and we already have some exciting plans in place to benefit everyone involved.
``Bass is a really strong brand in Bristol, and we believe it is an excellent partner to help take the club forward.''
