Fast bowler Lutho Sipamla has been ruled out of the ongoing T20I tri-series involving South Africa, Namibia and Zimbabwe after suffering a left hamstring injury. Sipamla bowled nine deliveries in South Africa's first game against Namibia before leaving the field and did not play match two against Zimbabwe. He will be replaced in the squad by Andile Simelane, who has played 10 T20Is for South Africa.
Sipamla is the second player to be ruled out of the series after batter Jason Smith could not make the trip because of a groin injury. Smith was not replaced in the squad.
He is also the third major concern for South Africa after it was confirmed on Sunday that Kagiso Rabada will miss the ODIs against Australia as he recovers from a right hamstring problem. Rabada's availability for the Australia Tests will be decided closer to that series' start date on October 9.
South Africa have a packed schedule which includes two more T20Is in Namibia, with the possibility of a third in the tri-series final, followed by three ODIs in Namibia. Then they host Australia for ODIs, and Tests, Bangladesh for a full tour and England for Tests and ODIs before the SA20.
