Flora Devonshire, Nensi Patel, Emma McLeod and Izzy Sharp have all been named for their first overseas ODI tour as part of a 15-player New Zealand women's squad that will head to England for a white-ball tour next month.

Spin-bowling all-rounders Devonshire, Patel, and batters McLeod and Sharp all featured in home ODI series victories against Zimbabwe and South Africa earlier in the year and the quartet will feature in an overseas series for the first time under skipper Melie Kerr.

Suzie Bates has also been named in what will be her ODI farewell after she announced that she will retire from international cricket at the end of the T20 World Cup in England in June.

The three-match ODI series starts in Durham on May 10 and precedes a three-match T20I series that will form the perfect warm-up for the World Cup.

Coach Ben Sawyer is excited about the opportunity for his inexperienced group.

"England is a tough side to beat in their home conditions - so it's a good chance to test ourselves," Sawyer said.

"We've got some exciting young talent in this squad with the likes of Emma, Izzy, Nensi, and Flora, alongside our core group of seasoned campaigners," he said.

"Our younger players are finding their feet in international cricket but they've proved they have what it takes to succeed at this level."

New Zealand will name their T20I squad to face England on Wednesday.
