32.3 Early success after lunch for Jammu & Kashmir! And the disciplined Mohan has been lulled into a false shot. At the top of his bowling mark, Nasir just signaled to deep square leg to move to his left. Perhaps that played on the mind of Mohan, who expected a short ball and was struck in the crease. Nasir then bowls it full and very wide outside off. Mohan could have left it all day long. But he doesn't. He is deep in the crease, merely leans back and throws his hands at it away from the body for the drive. Only ends up nicking it behind. Luckily for J&K and Nasir, he has his front foot behind the line 108/3
3.2 Nicked off! And J&K get a brief scare as the umpire only raises the finger belatedly. Sunil pitches it up just outside off, on the fourth stump and gets it to swing away. Sangwan pushes at it away from the body only because it is angled in towards off. But he ends up reaching out with very little footwork and feathering an outside edge to Wadhwan behind. J&K celebrate because of the obvious noise but turned back to see the batter unmoved. Until the umpire raised his finger. Early strike for the hosts, just what they would have wanted after winning the toss 8/1
10.3 Catching practice for first slip and Gharami is out cheaply! Nasir lands this on a length outside off, 124.5kph, and gets it to swing away. Gharami hangs back and looks to punch it away from the body. Gets a thick outside edge and Samad makes no mistake. A little bit of extra bounce as well helped the bowler. A first first-class wicket for Nasir and that's a lovely way to get on the board 32/2
43.1 gone!! Taken one-handed by the keeper tumbling down the leg side. Sarfaraz falls after looking set for a big score. But wait, the umpires converge to confirm if the catch was taken cleanly. The first replay from behind-the-keeper angles shows Wadhawan did take it well, even as he juggled the ball. So Sarfaraz departs. He went jabbing at this short-of-a-length ball seaming in and finishing outside leg, with his bottom hand nearly coming off the bat. Bonus wicket for J&K, really 133/4
45.3 got him!! Sliced to short cover. Pant falls after a frustrating few deliveries in this over. The man was placed close in, which is unusual, but it works for J&K. He decides to advance down the pitch again, and slices hard at this length delivery on middle by opening the face of the bat. But it's hit aerially, and perfectly lands into the hands of the close-in fielder. Nazir lands two massive blows on RoI 137/5
67.6 A flying catch from Samad at wide slip ends Smaran's stay! Full and outside off, given the marauding mood Smaran was in, he went for the drive through the off side. Gets a thick outside edge and Samad leaps to his left to end what was a superb knock. End of a handy partnership for Rest of India 237/9
50.2 Jaffa! Jain is stunned and is stood looking at the off stump that is pegged back. Lotra tosses it up and lands it on off. It lands and straightens massively. Jain prods forward to drive it through off and ends up playing well inside the line of the ball because of the dip and turn. Then sees the ball strike off pole. Rest of India crumble further 150/6
53.2 A dipping yorker! Is there an inside edge? A celebrappeal from Sunil but J&K think a lot before opting for the review. He floats it full and it swings it to hit Suthar on his front toe that is adjacent to the stumps. The only question is whether there is bat involved. Bat hits pad, not the ball. Eyes on the ball-tracking, which says it would crash into leg. Sunil has deserved a lot more wickets with his bowling today, but here is his second for now. Suthar massively disappointed with that and drags himself off as it is tea on day one. 155/7
60.5 Sharp catch by Samad and he makes up for the drop from a few overs ago. Tossed up just outside off, extra flight which Akash Deep cannot resist. Looks to go big over the off side but gets a thick outside edge. It goes quickly to the left of first slip where Samad moves swiftly to pouch. Ends of the 39-run stand 194/8
68.1 bowled him!! Choudhary departs first ball after drinks. Sunil has his third wicket. He bowls this on a length, swinging this into the left-hand batter. Choudhary went for a big heave by almost blindly swinging his bat. The ball smashed into the stumps, though 237/10

11.2 Sharp bouncer, and given out caught behind! Iqbal doesn't think he has edged it and reviews. Choudhary digs it short and it lands just outside leg. Iqbal walks down the track inside the line of the ball but then hops in a bid to fend it. Clearly, he's taken by surprise. His bottom hand comes off but the ball brushes the left glove whiich is holding the bat. Snicko proves it and Iqbal given his marching orders. J&K slip further and lose a review as well 37/4
5.1 Pant is up in celebreappeal for a caught-behind chance, but the umpire is unmoved. And Pant reviews. Choudhary bowled it on a length, and just outside off. There was no movement off the pitch there. Pundir went blocking, with bat and pad really close. So was Pant convinced because bat hit pad? We'll know soon. Wait, wait... the third umpire checks replays, and observes a second spike on UltraEdge as the ball also kisses the outside edge after the bat hits the pad. Pundir falls as J&K lose their first 16/1
6.5 gobbled up by Pant!! He casually throws the ball down after taking it. A tame dismissal in the end. Akash Deep bowled a short ball around middle and off, and Nazir looked to sway out of the way. But he ended up dangling his bat horizontally. The ball took the top edge, and flew for Pant to move forward to take a simple catch 21/2
9.6 A corker and it's almost an action replay of the previous ball that gets rid of Khajuria! Choudhary bowls it slightly fuller and wider, lands it on off, gets it to move in a touch. Khajuria once again plants his front foot forward and hangs his bat out away from the body to defend. Ends up reaching out. The inward movement means the ball deflects off the inside edge onto the stumps. Early wicket for Rest of India and the challenge gets tougher for Jammu & Kashmir 36/3
59.4 Out? Skier has been taken at deep fine leg. DOGRA GONE FOR 75, CHOUDHARY HAS FIVE! Halfway length on middle. Dogra was in the crease, jumped back and went for the pull. Wanteed to hit it into the ground, maybe just behind square, but the top edge took it right up. Ball went straight to the fielder. Skip gets a pat on the back after taking his state close to parity 230/9
38.4 There's the breakthrough! A soft dismissal and Samad would be kicking himself. Mukesh lands it on a length just outside off, gets it move away a little. Invites the drive despite not exactly being on a driving length. Samad pushes at it with hard hands, gets a thick outside edge that carries to Sangwan at gully where he takes it with a dive to his right. End of the 101-run partnership with J&K now trailing by 99. This is eerily similar to yesterday now - half-centurion Mohan getting out in the second over after lunch 138/5
43.6 A fourth wicket for Choudhary and he roars in celebration! Wadhawan's tentativeness costs him but the umpires want to be sure about the catch. He lands it on a fullish length on middle and off and slanting away. Wadhawan comes forward and just hangs his bat out perhaps in an attempt to steer it past the cordon. He only ends up edging it to first slip where Smaran clasps it with fingers under the ball. A few replays confirm that he had his fingers under it and did not grass it. A long, nervous wait for Wadhawan results with the outcome going against him 156/6
44.6 Huge appeal and given! Mushtaq reviews straightaway and I think it pitched outside leg. Mukesh bowls it full on leg and it swings in further. Mushtaq hangs back to clip it but is beaten on the inside edge and is hit pretty low on the front pad. Pitches just in line but would have swung in and clipped the stumps, shows ball-tracking. Umpire's call and Mushtaq has to walk back for a two-ball blob even if J&K retain the review 157/7
48.2 Gully is close and ball goes right to him! Sangwan had to run back, carried by the momentum of the ball. Took it around the belly. Was a floaty half-volley just outside off. Lotra went for the full-fledged punch through cover, touch too late on it, 50-plus lead there for RoI's taking now 166/8
64.2 Plumb in front! A hint of reverse swing into play. Oh, Nasir knows he's toast and starts walking back but then remembers he can use the DRS. Akash Deep pitches this up on off, a hint of inward movement. Nasir is rooted to the crease as he looks to whip it across the line with the bat facing mid-on. Misses and is hit low on the right knee-roll. Ball-tracking is a mere formality as it returns three reds. Take nothing away from this Nasir counter-attack. Thanks to that, J&K have finished with a 41-run lead 278/10

7.2 Sunil Kumar provides the breakthrough with some superb swing bowling. Lands it on a length just outside off, 123.4kph, gets it to swing further away. Mohan doesn't really need to play it but because of Sunil's ability to also move the ball back in, he hangs his bat at it. Gets a thick oustide edge and Wadhawan pouches it with a dive to his left. RoI still trail by 33 8/1
51.4 nicked and gone! And J&K have finally broken through! Well, all of his teammates will hope he has not overstepped this time, because this is a reward for the tidiness. On a back of a length outside off. A hint of nibble away and Sangwan cannot help but feel for it. A healthy nick, and the keeper gobbles it up. No Ball not called either, so J&K and their faithful can now celebrate! 128/3
25.3 J&K have their breakthrough! Gharami departs to an incredibly loose shot, really. Was length outside off, has some great bounce on this but not nearly enough for Gharami to swat this delivery across the line expecting a shorter ball, maybe. Inside edge ricochets right into his stumps... He had bedded in here but has a loss of patience or judgement, maybe both, and he has to depart now... 58/2
53.3 chopped on, and Nazir is turning this match on its head! Barring the No balls, this has been a brilliant spell either side of lunch. Absolutely nothing in terms of freebies to work with, so Saransh tries to manufacture something. In the channel and on a back of a length, and Saransh tries to dab it away. Not enough conviction in the shot, though, and the ball may have nipped in a trifle too. Off the inside edge and onto the stumps. Nazir has two, and RoI in a spot of bother now! 130/4
53.6 oh my word - Nazir is ripping through RoI now! And this is beautiful, beautiful bowling. Back of a length in that nagging corridor just outside off. A bit of jag away and Sarfaraz, caught on the crease, fences at it without much footwork. Healthy edge and slip dives to his left to snare the chance. Nazir has two in the over, and three in the spell, and J&K truly in the ascendancy now! 131/5

99.5 no need for DRS with this, and Smaran's heroic vigil comes to an end! Hard length on off, and this seams back in too. Smaran, knowing time might be running out, looks for something ambitious. He has a swipe across the line but the ball keeps a tad low to squirm under his bat. Leg stump knocked back, and that is the end of the ROI innings. What a knock by Smaran, though. His teammates applaud as he walks off, and the J&K fielders and support staff join in too. J&K will now need 279 to win the Irani Cup! 319/10
68.2 Big appeals and Sahil will finally reap his reward for the consistent line-and-length he's bowled! Floated up and flattening into the stumps-line, Suthar goes for a defense but the bat rifles in past his inside edge, raps him on the pads. The umpire deems it out instantly. But Suthar reviews! All three reds, though, was plumb in the end, and Suthar's patient knock - with entertainment in parts - ends here 183/6
72.5 thumped on the pad, and that will be that for Pant! Back of a length just outside off. This keeps low and also comes in with the arm. Pant has a swipe at it but misses it completely. Pinged on the back leg, and that was heading nowhere but into the stumps. RoI lose their skipper, and sink further into the quicksand! 195/7
74.2 and Akash Deep could not have picked out short mid wicket better! A bit of flight on a length on middle and leg. Akash Deep's eyes light up and he swings for the hills. The bat face, though, closes upon impact and he arrows it to Khajuria, who makes no mistake. ROI now eight down! 197/8
95.6 Oh dear - what have you done, Mukesh Choudhary! A rush of blood, to put it mildly. Angled in on a length on middle and off. Choudhary takes a step down and then tries to hit it into next week. Loses his shape completely and loses his stumps soon after. Not sure what he was thinking hacking across the line agriculturally, but this mammoth ninth-wicket stand has now been broken! 310/9

10.1 Loud appeal for lbw and the umpire agrees. Did that hit him outside the line? That's the only question, I guess. Oh, that looks mighty close. Akash Deep goes wide of the crease and lands the ball on a length on off. Iqbal shuffles right across and eyes a heave. He misses and is struck in front. What does the ball tracker say? Pitches on off, hit in front of off stump, and the ball is just clipping the outer part of leg stump. Umpire's call it is and Iqbal has to walk off 54/1
19.1 nicked and gone, and this is a dream start for RoI! Full outside off, and this is a proper tempter. Khajuria gets tempted into the drive but does so without the requisite footwork. The ball nips away just a smidgen and kisses the outside edge. Juyal, on as a sub keeper, gobbles it up, and J&K are in a spot of bother now! 89/4
13.4 Loud appeal for lbw, a celebrappeal from Mukesh. Not given. Mukesh is besides himself. And Sarfaraz has reviewed. Doesn't look there is any bat there. Yep, a gap between bat and pad. What about the lbw? Length ball decking back into Pundir, who misses and is rapped on the pad. The ball is pitching in line and crashing into leg stump. Oh, that is a massive wicket for RoI and look at them celebrate. A sensational review from Mukesh and Sarfaraz 65/2
13.5 Two in two for Mukesh! This game has turned on its head, and how! An absolute jaffa first up from Mukesh and there is nothing Dogra can do about that. On a length that lands on middle and leg and tails away ever so late. Dogra is turned square as the ball evades his outside edge and thuds into the middle stump. Mukesh is on a celebratory run and why not. RoI are right back in this. 65/3
27.3 another edge, and the wheels are falling off now! Rattled in very full just outside off. Samad looks to dig it out into the off side, and all he manages is a thick outside edge. Second slip makes no mistake low to his left, and a distraught Samad has to trudge off. Is that the game? 106/7
24.5 edged again, and taken again! Length ball outside off. Wadhawan goes feeling for it and does so without any footwork. There is a bit of movement off the pitch and that is enough to kiss the outside edge. Simple take for Juyal, and half of the J&K side is now back in the shed! 98/5
25.6 massive, massive caught-behind appeal, but umpire Akshay Totre says no! Rest of India review! Back of a length in the channel. Wadhawan does not know whether to leave it or play at it. In the end, he nibbles without much conviction. RoI think there is bat invovled. Umpire, obviously, did not share that opinion. But RoI are right. Spike on UltraEdge as the ball is next to the bat, and Lotra has to go! 103/6

28.1 middle stump out of the ground, and J&K perhaps out of the game too! Hurtled in very full on middle. Mushtaq, for some reason, backs away and looks to go inside-out. The ball sneaks under his bat and then leaves middle stump in a mess. J&K on the brink now! 111/8
28.3 number nine goes down too! And this is a procession now. Banged in short and wide. Nazir swings like a rusty gate and the width means that he can only clink it off the toe-end. Extra cover back-pedals and snares the chance. A five-wicket haul for Mukesh Kumar, and he has been full value for it! 111/9
28.4 gone first ball, and Mukesh is absolutely pumped! Rest of India win the Irani Cup, and the reigning Ranji Trophy champions have been swatted aside! Bashed into the track on middle and leg. Sunil does not pick the length early enough, and he is unable to get out of the way. Dangles his bat as he is swaying away and all he manages is some catching practice to second slip. Hugs, embraces and beaming smiles in the RoI camp; J&K perhaps do not know what has hit them! 111/10
