The Player of the Match is Sonny Baker, for his 2 for 17. "Really happy, in previous two games it swung a lot, not a lot today so adapt to conditions. I took 25 minutes to pick the ball but it didn't make any difference. Swinging the ball both ways buys you that margin. My biggest commitment from my first game to this is be myself. Sounds a cliche, but I'm a carry-on merchant, being high-energy and allowing myself to do that has been a more accurate reflection of where I'm at. Just keep working hard and try to improve."

Charith Asalanka: "Very disappointing series for us, in batting and bowling. Good pitches, it's an important eye-opener for us, comparing to the best teams in the world. Time to get together as players and support-staff and find solutions to problems. We lost our captain for this series, he's recovering, he will come back and join the team in ODIs. These are the best 15 players right now. As players we have to forget everything and prepare for the ODI series. Next year, very important ODI World Cup. The talent is there, we have played good ODI cricket."

The Player of the Series is Harry Brook for his 170 uns in the series. "Should be very proud," he says. "Everybody stepped up in this series, Sonny in the powerplay, Daws, Jos... I could go on. We want to be a side that can manufacture a win when conditions aren't in our favour. I want to play as much cricket as possible for England which is why I don't play franchise."

5.08pm Well, that chase was completed barely an hour after Sri Lanka's last wicket fell, even allowing for the innings break. England march to No.1 in the T20I rankings, as they collect their 16th consecutive win over their hapless opponents. In an already one-sided series, that was the biggest drubbing yet. Buttler, fittingly, seals it with a six to finish unbeaten on 62 from 32 balls. His 85-run stand with Brook dismantled the chase, after Donald's third cameo in a row. He's managed just 46 runs in his debut series, but a strike-rate of 191 shows he was at least playing to type. Sri Lanka, by contrast, barely broke a 100 strike-rate in today's mismatch. It's not been pretty viewing.

Raj: "International cricket has become one-sided and boring. It doesn't even make for good entertainment when the game is not competitive anymore." It is, undeniably, a concern. The ODI series might not be much fun on this evidence.
