And that's our coverage of this match. It will be England vs Sri Lanka on Thursday so do join us for that game. Until then, it is goodbye and goodnight.
Pakistan captain Shaheen Afridi: "It was really good how Hasan Nawaz, Arafat Minhas, and Faheem Ashraf batted, but we also need our top-order to fire. As a team we have done some good things but we need to improve further as we are looking to build towards the World Cup. The form of Arafat and fast bowlers is good signs for us. Arafat is a very good talent and he is a proper allrounder, which bodes well for us. Hopefully, he will deliver for us in many more games in the future."
England captain Harry Brook: "We were quite happy by limiting them under 300. Banton and Ducky set the tone beautifully, but we lost the wickets in clumps and could not put on a partnership and ended up on the wrong side. We were a bit too much circumspect against the spinners. We could have put them under pressure, I feel. But this is something we will talk about today and hopefully bounce back in the next match."
Speaking to Urooj Mumtaz at the presentation ceremony, he says: "I have kept my plans simple. There was not much help for the spinners in the first match. The pitch was on the slower side today, which helped me. Variations are very important for a spinner as they help in deceiving the batters. I have worked on my variations. We needed an important partnership when I walked in the middle. Hasan and I discussed that we need to bat deep. I took the charge after Hasan got out and I tried to bat until the end of the innings, which helped in taking the score beyond 300.
No surprises there as Arafat Minhas is the player of the match.
Kashif: "just checked allround records at cricinfo and what a player Shahid Afridi was. Only player to score 50 and take a fifer thrice." -- Yes, one of the GOATed cricketers.
Zahid: "They made 300 from nowhere and they win it from nowhere "
Pakistan have one foot in the final of this tri-nation series after two wins in as many matches. There have been quite a few positives for Pakistan in this series. It was a brilliant performance from Agha and their pace quartet on Sunday and today it was Arafat Minhas' allround performance and Hasan Nawaz's brilliant ODI half-century. They will hope that their top-order shows up on coming Sunday when these two teams meet again in Lahore.
Qazi: "Can't even remember the last time I saw a genuine match winning performance from Pakistan against a good team. A proper all-round performance by Arafat! Way to go"
Wow! That was one sensational comeback from Pakistan. They bowl England out with more than 11 overs to spare and win by 87 runs, all because of Arafat Minhas who becomes only the third male cricketer from Pakistan to score a fifty and take a five-fer in an ODI.
