END OF OVER:1 | IND-A: 9/0
Sahan Arachchige: "Sadeera batted really well. Really happy. Viyaskanth and Chameera batted really well. Not too much planning [for the upcoming games]."
Tilak Varma: "The games were really close. Unfortunately we lost in the Super Over. The credit goes to Shedge and Vipraj. Their partnership was very crucial. From there, scoring 266 was tremendous to watch. Overall it was good bowling. The way Arshad bowled at the death was good to watch."
6.55pm Sadeera Samarawickrama is the Player of the Match: "The wicket was too dry. I managed to bat deep. Everyone did a really good job."
Amid plenty of drama and confusion, it turned out to be a breathless finish. A good few minutes after regulation time, hardly anyone knew whether we would be having a Super Over. When it finally began, there was little visibility to play in. Animated chats, boundaries, no-balls, call backs, heated exchanges - there was everything. In the end, it turned out to be a memorable game which went all the way.
8 off 1. Sri Lanka can't afford a wide or no-ball.
Sooryavanshi needs two sixes off two balls.
Sooryavanshi needs to get into T20 mode now.
The chase begins amid little visibility. Shedge on strike.
END OF OVER:1 | SL-A: 16/0
6.19pm Long after sunset, the Super Over begins. Arshad to Arachchige.
END OF OVER:50 | SL-A: 265/8 (1 run required, RR: 5.30)
6.10pm The umpires and the India side have a discussion - perhaps around the possibility of a Super Over. But after a few words, it looks like India are walking back. The light is fading, but Tilak seems to be wanting more action. But no, he doesn't have his way. He leaves unsatisfied. Tilak looks very animated as he continues chatting with the umpires. He points out towards the pitch as if to indicate that there's still enough light to play. He's gesturing and discussing animatedly. You wonder whether he has crossed the line, and could be fined. We're still waiting for final confirmation more than five minutes after the final ball was bowled. But, but... just as we were prepared for the end, the umpires decide there will be a Super Over. The light is fading, but the Indian players make their way out.
