Sahan Arachchige: "Sadeera batted really well. Really happy. Viyaskanth and Chameera batted really well. Not too much planning [for the upcoming games]."

Tilak Varma: "The games were really close. Unfortunately we lost in the Super Over. The credit goes to Shedge and Vipraj. Their partnership was very crucial. From there, scoring 266 was tremendous to watch. Overall it was good bowling. The way Arshad bowled at the death was good to watch."

6.55pm Sadeera Samarawickrama is the Player of the Match: "The wicket was too dry. I managed to bat deep. Everyone did a really good job."

Amid plenty of drama and confusion, it turned out to be a breathless finish. A good few minutes after regulation time, hardly anyone knew whether we would be having a Super Over. When it finally began, there was little visibility to play in. Animated chats, boundaries, no-balls, call backs, heated exchanges - there was everything. In the end, it turned out to be a memorable game which went all the way.

Mathulan to Sooryavanshi, no run, too good. Yorker around fifth stump, as the ball is angled across. Sooryavanshi has a go at it, but is completely beaten by the length and the pace. Sooryavanshi seems to have something to say to the Sri Lankans, but is stopped by some of their fielders.

8 off 1. Sri Lanka can't afford a wide or no-ball.

Sooryavanshi needs two sixes off two balls.

Arshad Khan to Fernando, 1 no ball, a high full toss on off..., and skied to mid-on. The umpire is checking if it's no-ball for height. Wow, the fielders had walked back, and they're being recalled since this is a no-ball. Tilak is again having a heated discussion with the umpires. Sooryavanshi, in fact, had his pads on for the chase. This game could go on forever.

END OF OVER:
50 | SL-A: 265/8 (1 run required, RR: 5.30)

6.10pm The umpires and the India side have a discussion - perhaps around the possibility of a Super Over. But after a few words, it looks like India are walking back. The light is fading, but Tilak seems to be wanting more action. But no, he doesn't have his way. He leaves unsatisfied. Tilak looks very animated as he continues chatting with the umpires. He points out towards the pitch as if to indicate that there's still enough light to play. He's gesturing and discussing animatedly. You wonder whether he has crossed the line, and could be fined. We're still waiting for final confirmation more than five minutes after the final ball was bowled. But, but... just as we were prepared for the end, the umpires decide there will be a Super Over. The light is fading, but the Indian players make their way out.

Arshad Khan to Gunasekara, 1 leg bye, OUT, it's tied!! Arshad bowled too full on Gunasekara's pads, and the latter missed his attempted flick. The ball dribbled off his pads to the keeper's left, who tumbled to collect it. In the meanwhile, the batters attempted a second, and fell short in the end as Gunasekara was run out after Prabh threw it to Arshad, who was at the keeper's end by then

C Gunasekara run out 18 (25b 1x4 0x6) SR: 72

It's the set batter Gunasekara on strike. Mid-off and midwicket in.

Tilak, Gaikwad and Arshad in conversation. The Sri Lanka dugout is smiling nervously.

Arshad Khan to Samarawickrama, OUT, got him!! SS is bowled. India are still into it. Tilak can afford a smile now. Arshad launches a yorker bang on target, and SS is beaten. The ball lands on middle, and SS, who looks to slash after making room, can't get bat on ball. The crowd looks so tense as he walks back for 93
