The second day of the 2026 FIFA World Cup quarterfinals saw European champions Spain -- who were coming off of eliminating Portugal -- take on a Belgium side that beat co-hosts United States convincingly in the round of 16.
In an entertaining game that saw both teams share a goal, it was Mikel Merino who scored off the bench yet again to give them the winning goal as they won 2-1 to advance to the semifinals.
