Righto, time to sign out on behalf of Chetan Kumar and the rest of the Cricinfo crew. See you all tomorrow for the Qualifier 1 game. Until then, take care!

Rovman Powell: "[How special was that run chase?] It was very special. Something we sat down as a team and discussed: if our top two, top three batters can give us a very good start, a very good platform, then it allows myself, Andre Russell, and those power-hitters, with a platform being laid, to come out and express ourselves a little bit more. [Pleased with that bowling effort?] At the halfway stage, we were very, very pleased. If at the start of the day you had given us 144 to chase, we would have taken it. Having said that, even though they were four wickets down in the powerplay, credit has to be given to de Kock and their captain Chris Green, and I think they batted really well.

[Not bowling Ayub's full quota] I think it's a case of we have realized some patterns with our team. It's a case of myself also learning as a captain. I want to give him a lot of confidence, a lot of know-how to go out and bowl. But we have seen a trend where if he bowls back to back overs, he generally gets scored off. The last game he played, he bowled two, three good overs, and then in the last over they take him down just a bit. So it's a case of me just trying to make some matchups as a captain and see how best I can come up with 20 overs instead of having somebody who hasn't bowled or over-bowled the last over.

[Russell's fitness] He's good. He was also fit for us to bat tonight. He's just a little bit jaded. Obviously, Andre is closer to 40 than he is to 30, so he's somebody that we have to keep on taking care of. But tonight he was special. We talked about getting early wickets, something he hadn't really done for us all season. But in a playoff game, we know that our big players have to stand up. Handing the ball to him tonight and telling him to get me one or two in the powerplay - he did exactly that.

[Message to the team] I think it's a case of us replicating our performance. Tonight was good. We didn't field as well as we wanted, so that is also something for us to work on. If we can also as a group improve 10-15 percent, I'm very big on that, if we can keep on improving as a group, now is the time for us to rack up those very good performances."

Chris Green: "[How did you assess that total?] Yeah. Look, I think we scraped and fought to a decent total. Conditions were tough. We were blown away a little bit in the powerplay. I think we lost four wickets in the powerplay. Anytime you do that, it's a tough ask. So to get to the total we got to there, mid-140s, very happy with our efforts. We got to something that was defendable, and unfortunately, the dew factor came in and Sadaqat blew us away. I mean, what an incredible knock to score a hundred. I think it's important that the dew doesn't take away how impressive that knock was. His striking ability from the get-go, his ability to find the boundary is the only one that was able to do that consistently tonight on that wicket. So full credit goes to Jamaica. And for us, I'm really proud of our efforts. We didn't give up there. We were just blown away by both the powerplay when we were batting and then the powerplay when we were bowling as well.

[Different tactics from the bowlers] Felt like everything I threw at Maaz tonight, we found an answer. Look, the ball from the get-go there was soaking wet. I know once Sams hit that first ball over the top and it came back, I caught it and slipped, and it was wet. So conditions suited them, and it's been the case all the way here. I've won five tosses in a row, we bowled first, and they had the better of the conditions tonight, and they utilized it and blew us away. So I don't think we were too far away. Perhaps we were bowling a little bit too quick as spinners, but with a wet ball, it's tough to be brave and bowl a little bit slower with it slipping out. [Use little more seam bowlers in the first half] I mean, the first over went for 12 [Sams]. We felt like with the wet ball, I had to front-load spin as much as possible to try and get some grip out of that surface against two left-handers that strike. Myself and Ghazanfar are two experienced off-spinners, and we've got to try and come up with answers to that. And sometimes, like I said, you've got to tip the cap. He scored a hundred in a playoff, and what an incredible knock. There's not much else I have to say.

[Sum up the season] I think it was a tale of two halves. We started nicely, lost our way in the middle, and then came back here, being really impressive to win four out of five at home, secure qualification. I think first and foremost I've got to thank the people of Barbados for getting right behind us. We certainly noticed it in the five home games, and then tonight walking around the streets, everyone was right behind us. So that was really special. Hopefully we entertained everyone. Hopefully we put on a good enough show. And I think there's so much for my group to learn and to be proud of throughout this season, both individually and as a collective as well. We unfortunately went out in a way where we didn't quite play our best cricket. But like I said, you've got to tip the hat when the opposition blows you away. And tonight they did that."

Player of the Match, Maaz Sadaqat: "I am very thankful to Allah Subhana Wa Taala for helping me get through this first 100 that I've got. I am very happy that I am the youngest one to score, and I'm also thanking the whole of the group, the management, that they backed me all the way from coming from Pakistan, and now I'm able to score that 100. It's just my natural instinct to attack, and I just followed my instinct, and it was coming off, so I just kept going.

[Batting with McKenzie] In the middle we were communicating after every over that because my shots were getting connected, so I kept saying to Kirk, 'You play the supporting role, keep giving me the strike, and then you just don't lose your wicket, and I'll take the charge.' And I kept going. What we were talking about is to make sure that we keep building the partnership because the pitch wasn't easy. It was taking turn, so we didn't want to lose back to back wickets, and on the contrary, we still wanted to keep attacking. So we just continued to build that partnership, and luckily that the partnership paid off.

[Carrying the form to the next game] In the first couple of games I didn't come off as well as I would have liked, but now I've started to get connections. I'm hoping that I continue this form and on these Barbados grounds and these pitches I continue to contribute massively on the winning side."

10:35 pm It turned out to be a fairly one-sided affair served up to the hostile Barbados supporters, marking a disappointing end for the two-time CPL champions as they exit the tournament. Sadaqat set the tone right away with an explosive innings, hitting boundaries and sixes all over the park for fun. He was let off the hook early on 16 runs when Clarke put down a chance behind the stumps. Sadaqat raced to fifty off just 22 balls, smashing three consecutive sixes off Ghazanfar and completely shifting the momentum away from the Tridents. With dropped catches and missed stumpings, the Tridents simply failed to capitalize on their chances. Maaz Sadaqat brought up a brilliant 44-ball century for his maiden T20 ton. Even after taking a blow to his hand from a Daniel Sams bouncer, he kept going and silenced the home crowd with a masterclass in shot-making. Sadaqat departed on 112 runs off 49 balls, but it was already too late and all the damage was done. McKenzie remained unbeaten on 22 runs off 34 balls, had the best seat of the ground and witnessed history out there. Every bowler took a beating apart from Sams and Green, who both managed to keep their economy rates below nine runs per over.
