Raith v Albion
McKinnon's dream start continues
New boss Ray McKinnon made it two wins in as many games as Raith beat Albion 3-0 in the first round of the Scottish League Cup.It was Albion's first trip to Kirkcaldy in 11 years, but it did not start well, as Lewis Vaughan put the home side ahead after 16 minutes, coolly converting a penalty after Ross Callachan was fouled.Gary Fisher had a good opportunity to level things up for Darren Young's men, but his shot lacked power and goalkeeper Kevin Cuthbert made a comfortable save. The Scottish Championship outfit were 2-0 up when Kyle Benedictus headed home Ryan McCord's corner after 38 minutes following increased pressure from the home side.Rory McKeown made it three with a neat finish inside the box to secure a place in the second round for McKinnon's men.
