Milan v Inter Milan
Christian Pulisic scores as AC Milan beat rivals Inter Milan
Christian Pulisic scored inside five minutes while Diego Moreira scored and added two assists as AC Milan snapped Inter Milan's nine-match unbeaten run this Serie A season in a 3-1 victory at San Siro.
United States star Pulisic was once again a thorn in Inter's side, connecting with Moreira's delivery in the fourth minute of the Derby della Madonnina to open the scoring.
Moreira's corner then perfectly set up Adrien Rabiot for the hosts' second, before Alessandro Bastoni clawed a goal back in the 22nd minute.
Moreira added his own name to the list of goal-scorers in the 43rd minute, ultimately consigning Inter to defeat, anointing Lazio new league leaders, and extending their own unbeaten run in the derby to five matches.
It was determined work from Moreira to set up the opener, calmly controlling the ball as he worked his way down the right before issuing an excellent cross for Pulisic, who nodded it home.
Rabiot doubled the lead in the 10th minute from Moreira's creatively worked corner, taking the visitors and Josep Martínez by surprise when he directed it in off the far post.
Inter finally had a chance through Carlos Augusto, who was off-target, before Bastoni cut the deficit in half.
It came from a Hakan Çalhanoglu corner, flicked on by Manuel Akanji, before Bastoni nodded into the bottom corner at the near post.
Calhanoglu then tried himself, forcing Mike Maignan to tip his effort over the crossbar, and the French keeper reacted quickly to keep out Marcus Thuram's header from a corner.
Momentum had shifted in Inter's favour following the Bastoni goal, and it required a brilliant, lightning-quick reaction from Maignan to deny Djed Spence from point-blank range.
Moreira extended the hosts' advantage with two minutes remaining in stoppage time from a free-kick.
It looked as though there was some debate as to whether he or Pulisic might take it, but their decision proved the correct one when the Belgian floated it over the wall with his left foot, giving Martinez no chance.
Andy Diouf attempted to reduce the deficit with a lob 10 minutes into the second half, and there was a chance from a great Calhanoglu delivery for Augusto, who chose to head it but directed it wide.
Strahinja Pavlovic played a critical part in preserving the hosts' lead with a timely tackle, then kept the pressure on Marcus Thuram, who could only direct an effort straight at Maignan.
Inter briefly had hope of a penalty for a handball, but it was correctly overturned after VAR confirmed the ball had struck Mario Gila's midsection.
Substitute Alphadjo Cissè nearly made it four in stoppage time, but a good stop by Martinez to tip it over prevented any further damage.
