Saint Mary's Gaels vs UCLA Bruins

Saint Mary's walks off No. 1 seed UCLA in 10 innings
Makoa Sniffen delivered a walk-off RBI single in the 10th inning to give Saint Mary's a 6-5 victory over top-seeded UCLA in an NCAA tournament elimination game Sunday at Jackie Robinson Stadium in Los Angeles.
The Gaels trailed for most of the game before tying the score in the bottom of the ninth on an RBI single from Ian Armstrong. Cody Kashimoto, who went 2-for-4, hit a one-out single and later scored the winning run on Sniffen's hit. Armstrong finished 3-for-5 with a home run and two RBIs. Tanner Griffith also had three hits, driving in a run, while Diego Castellanos went 2-for-3 with an RBI, extending his West Coast Conference-record hitting streak.
UCLA was eliminated despite building early leads of 3-0 and 5-2. Dean West hit a solo home run and drove in two runs. Roman Martin went 2-for-4 with an RBI, and Mulivai Levu added two hits. Trey Gudoy drove in a run with a second-inning double.
The Bruins jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first on Martin's single and extended it to 3-0 in the second. But Saint Mary's got solo home runs from Armstrong in the third and Jacob Johnson in the fifth to stay within striking distance.
UCLA starter Angel Cervantes pitched 5⅓ innings, allowing four runs on nine hits while striking out seven. Gaels reliever Cam Staton was effective, tossing 4⅔ scoreless innings with five strikeouts to keep his team in the game before David Roberts pitched a scoreless top of the 10th.
