FORT COLLINS, Co. -- — Joel Scott scored 18 points as Colorado State beat Louisiana Tech 81-73 in the season opener for both teams on Monday.
Scott shot 6 of 9 from the field and 5 for 6 from the line for the Rams. Nique Clifford scored 16 points while going 4 of 6 and 6 of 6 from the free throw line, and added three steals. Isaiah Stevens shot 4 for 9 (0 for 3 from 3-point range) and 7 of 8 from the free throw line to finish with 15 points, while adding 10 assists.
The Bulldogs were led by Jaylin Henderson, who posted 16 points. Sean Newman Jr. added 15 points, five assists and three steals for Louisiana Tech. In addition, Tahlik Chavez finished with 11 points.
