Princeton defeats Delaware 84-82
NEWARK, Del. -- — Caden Pierce scored 21 points as Princeton beat Delaware 84-82 on Saturday.
Pierce also had 10 rebounds for the Tigers (12-1). Xaivian Lee scored 18 points and Matt Allocco had 16 points for Princeton.
Princeton led by 16 at halftime but had to hold on after Delaware's Gerald Drumgoole Jr. made a 3-pointer to get within 82-81 with five seconds remaining. Lee made two free throws with three seconds left to seal the win for Princeton.
Jyare Davis led the way for the Fightin' Blue Hens (8-5) with 18 points. Jalun Trent added 16 points, six rebounds and 11 assists for Delaware. In addition, Cavan Reilly had 15 points and three steals.
