BALTIMORE -- — Christian May's 24 points helped Towson defeat UMBC 89-73 on Saturday.
May was 9 of 14 shooting (6 for 10 from 3-point range) for the Tigers (5-5, Colonial Athletic Association). Tomiwa Sulaiman scored 16 points and added five rebounds. Tyler Tejada had 14 points and shot 5 of 9 from the field and 3 for 4 from the line.
The Retrievers (5-7, America East Conference) were led by Franck Emmou, who recorded 16 points. Khydarius Smith added 14 points and two blocks for UMBC. In addition, Dion Brown finished with 12 points and two steals.
Towson hosts Bryant on Dec. 16.
UMBC visits Saint Peter's on Dec. 12.
