LAKE CHARLES, La. -- — Christian Shumate scored 15 points and McNeese cruised past Northwestern State 89-65 on Monday night.
Shumate also had eight rebounds for the Cowboys (19-2, 8-0 Southland Conference). DJ Richards scored 14 points and added three steals. Shahada Wells had 13 points and shot 4 for 9 (1 for 3 from 3-point range) and 4 of 4 from the free throw line. It was the 14th straight victory for the Cowboys.
Chris Mubiru led the Demons (5-16, 3-5) with 17 points, adding four assists. Chase Forte totaled 16 points, six rebounds, five assists, two steals and two blocks. Cliff Davis finished with 15 points and four assists.
