Aston Villa v Arsenal
Alessia Russo scores twice as Arsenal thrash Aston Villa
Alessia Russo inspired Arsenal to end a tough week on a high with a 3-0 win over Aston Villa.
The Gunners saw their reign as European champions ended by Lyon last weekend and then had their slim WSL title hopes halted after a draw with Brighton in midweek.
But they remain on course for a second-placed finish after moving to within a point of Chelsea with a game in hand.
Russo opened the scoring with a header, provided a classy assist for Frida Maanum to hit the second and then fired the killer third to ensure Arsenal will be back in the Champions League next season.
