Tigres grab first leg edge on Leon in CCL semifinals
Luis Quinones delivered an assist and a goal just before halftime, leading host Tigres UANL to a 2-1 win over Leon on Tuesday in the first leg of a CONCACAF Champions League semifinal series at San Nicolas de los Garza, Mexico.
Tigres' Francisco Cordova tied the game 1-1 by bouncing in a 12-foot shot off an outside-of-the-foot cross from Quinones in the 45th minute. Tigres' Andre-Pierre Gignac whiffed on an attempted bicycle kick, but Cordova was right behind to knock in his shot.
