Rennes v Bordeaux
Jeremy Toulalan own goal gives Rennes victory over Bordeaux
An early own goal from Jeremy Toulalan saw Rennes edge out Bordeaux 1-0 and climb away from the foot of Ligue 1.
The hosts began the night just two points clear of the relegation zone but got a helping hand 11 minutes into the match when
Toulalan dove to try to turn Wahbi Khazri's free-kick from the left wing behind, but instead diverted it past his own goalkeeper at the near post.
Bordeaux made two changes at the break in a sign of coach Jocelyn Gourvennec's frustration with their first-half display but created few chances to level, with Alexandre Mendy missing one of the best of them when he blazed over from close range.
The win was enough to move Rennes all the way up to 10th place in the congested Ligue 1 mid-table, only one point behind Bordeaux in eighth.
