Albania's World Cup qualifier with Macedonia was abandoned due to a waterlogged pitch with the game level at 1-1.

Armando Sadiku put Albania ahead inside 10 minutes when he received right-back Elseid Hysaj's cross from a deep position, turned back on to his right foot and produced a crisp low finish from the edge of the box.

Ergjan Alioski equalised in the 51st minute when he was gifted possession, took on Berat Djimsiti and fired home low with his left foot from 20 yards.

But relentless rain at the Loro Borici Stadium in Shkoder forced the players off after 75 minutes and, with no let-up, they will return on Tuesday at 2pm CEST (1pm BST) to complete the match.
