Commentary
After a fantastic match in the World Cup, Germany snatch all three points late on, beating Ivory Coast 2-1 in Toronto. The likes of Havertz, Musiala, and Nmecha all came close to finding the opener for the Germans, but it was Ivory Coast that took the lead. Brown brilliantly blocked Diallo’s effort, but nobody could stop Kessie from smashing home from close range. Germany twice had the ball in the back of the net before they eventually scored, with Nmecha and Musiala deemed to have committed fouls on both occasions. Undav, who came on as part of a triple substitution, changed the game for Germany. In the 68th minute, a cross by fellow substitute Amiri missed Havertz, but found the run of Undav, who volleyed past Yahia Fofana from inside the area. Then, in the 94th minute, Nmecha stayed composed, and drilled a pass into Undav. The striker was just inside the area, as he took a touch to turn, before blasting a strike to win the match for Germany late on. The goal sees Germany secure their place in the round of 32! Germany ended the match with the higher expected goals, with it being 1.83-1.23 in their favour. Germany will win group E with a point in their last match, or if Ecuador fail to beat Curacao later today. Ivory Coast may have been safe with four points, but now they will go into the final game knowing that they may need a result to reach the knockout rounds for the first time. Tonight was a night to remember for Undav, who now has five goal contributions in just 56 minutes of World Cup football. The question is will Nagelsmann choose to start Undav next time out or will he be the super sub for the Germans this tournament? Thank you all for tuning into our live text commentary. Goodbye for now!
FULL-TIME: GERMANY 2-1 IVORY COAST!
There were instant question marks as to if Undav was onside or not, but on replays it is clear to see he is miles on!
Nmecha has proved to be a fantastic asset for Germany in their first two matches and has picked out Undav with a brilliant moment of magic.

GOOOOAAAAAAALLLLL!!!!!!! UNDAV WINS IT LATE FOR GERMANY!!!!!!!!! WHAT A SUBSTITUTION HE HAS PROVEN TO BE AGAIN!!!!!! BEDLUM AT THE TORONTO STADIUM!!!!! Nmecha picks out Undav with a powerful pass, before Undav turned with his first touch, before firing past Yahia Fofana from just inside the area. What a moment for Germany and Undav! It is 2-1 late on!
Amiri now has an effort, but once again, Yahia Fofana is there to make the stop. Both sides are pushing for a late winner here!
