Freshman Moore rallies Cincinnati over Miami (Ohio) 37-33
OXFORD, Ohio -- Backup quarterback Hayden Moore turned the ball over four times in the fourth quarter before rallying Cincinnati to a 37-33 victory over Miami (Ohio) on Saturday, its 10th win in a row over the regional rival.
On the go-ahead drive, Moore completed all three of his passes for 50 yards, and kept it for the final yard that made it 37-33 with 1:13 to go.
The Bearcats (2-1) lost starter Gunner Kiel, who was knocked out of the game after a hit by Bryson Albright that drew a roughing-the-passer penalty, early in the third quarter.
In his first significant playing time, Moore fumbled twice and threw a pair of interceptions -- one of them in the end zone -- as Miami (1-2) protected a 33-30 lead late in the fourth quarter.
Drew Kummer threw three touchdown passes for Miami, which was coming off a 58-0 loss at Wisconsin.
