BOSTON -- — Luka Sakota scored 19 points as Northeastern beat Hofstra 71-68 on Thursday night.
Sakota was 7 of 12 shooting (3 for 6 from 3-point range) for the Huskies (6-10, 1-2 Coastal Athletic Association). Joe Pridgen scored 12 points while finishing 5 of 5 from the floor, and added seven rebounds. Chris Doherty shot 3 for 10 (0 for 5 from 3-point range) and 4 of 4 from the free throw line to finish with 10 points.
Tyler Thomas finished with 32 points for the Pride (8-8, 1-2). Jaquan Carlos added 13 points and five steals for Hofstra. In addition, Darlinstone Dubar finished with 10 points and six rebounds.
Sakota scored 12 points in the first half for Northeastern, which led 42-23 at the break. Doherty's free throw with 2:12 left in the second half gave Northeastern the lead for good at 66-65.
