Commentary
Well, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia for Croatia, as they beat Ghana 2-1 in their final Group L game in Pennsylvania. With group winners England beating Panama 2-0 in New Jersey, the Chequered Ones better the Black Stars to finish second. In a steady first-half showing that was more akin to a chess match, Petar Sucic's moment of brilliance was the difference. Following Nikola Vlasic's striking of the post earlier on, Sucic was found by Mateo Kovacic, and whizzed a fine daisy-cutter through defensive legs and into the bottom-left corner to catch Benjamin Asare unaware just past the half-hour mark. After the break, Ghana switched up from a relatively drab opening display, and managed to restore parity in the 73rd minute. Following VAR's watchful gaze for offside, Derrick Luckassen was the man to get the goal, offering a smart side-foot from a lovely Ernest Nuamah free-kick delivery. Despite the frenetic moment of celebration that followed, Croatia remained undeterred by the goal, and quickly restored their advantage. Mario Pasalic forced a fine save from Asare to win a corner, and in this, the Hearts of Oak keeper couldn't uproot himself quick enough to stop Vlasic's pinpoint header down into the bottom-left corner as it kissed the inside of the post. While England can prepare for Senegal at the time of writing, Croatia can now expect to play Portugal in the next round, while Ghana will face Colombia as they inadvertently end Scotland's time at the tournament. For all you xG heads, Hrvatska played above their 0.42, while Ghana also worked well around their 0.74 xG chances. Thanks for joining us this evening, goodbye!
FULL-TIME: CROATIA 2-1 GHANA
One last surge from Ghana unfortunately comes to nothing as Fatawu can only muster a wild effort high and wide.
Croatia win a corner and go short from the left. Marco Pasalic manages to squirm free of his markers and dart to the left byline. However, his ball over is swiped out by Yirenkyi.

After fine tackling from Modric, Oppong fouls Matanovic to stop a late Croatia counter and pick up the game's second yellow card.
Marco Pasalic wins his side a corner on the right. Modric meanders over casually, as Ghana wait frustrated. It's worked short, before a wild cross zips way over for a goal-kick.
