Commentary
Referee Valenzuela blows the full-time whistle as Bosnia-Herzegovina seal a 3-1 victory over Qatar in Seattle. A stunning opener from Alajbegovic on 29 minutes got Sergej Barbarez's men going, before an Abunada own goal doubled their lead five minutes later. Qatar refused to lie down, though, and pulled a goal back through Al Haydos in the 42nd minute to setup a tense second half. It wasn't to be for Julen Lopetegui's men, though, whose fate was sealed when Mahmic bagged a third for Bosnia-Herzegovina on 80 minutes. Bosnia-Herzegovina finished the game with 0.64 xG to their name, compared to the 0.77 put up by opponents Qatar. The result means Bosnia-Herzegovina finish third in Group B on four points, leaving them with a strong chance of securing a spot in the knockouts. Meanwhile, defeat for Qatar means they bow out at the group stage after finishing bottom of the pile with just a single point. Switzerland's 2-1 win over Canada in Vancouver this evening means they finish as winners of Group B, while second-placed Canada join the other co-hosts Mexico and USA in the knockout rounds. That's all for this one, thanks for joining us!
FULL-TIME: BOSNIA-HERZEGOVINA 3-1 QATAR
It's been an impressive performance from Bosnia-Herzegovina, who have battled through the heat to surely land a spot in the knockouts with a third-placed finish in Group B. No wonder their fans are going wild in the Seattle Stadium stands.
WHAT AN EFFORT FROM MIGUEL!! Qatar look dead and buried now, but Miguel almost bags a stunning consolation with a right-footed effort from range, which forces Vasilj to tip the ball over the crossbar. Ali then finds the target with a header from the resulting corner, but Vasilj is there to save again. A goal there would have made for a tense final few minutes for Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Qatar still haven't had a shot on target in this second half. They've found themselves in some promising positions, but that final bit of quality hasn't quite been there.
There will be SIX minutes of added time at the end of the second half.
