Arsenal v Lille

The full-time whistle goes then and it's Arsenal who run out 3-0 winners over Lille in this Champions League league-phase clash at the Emirates Stadium. Arteta's men completely toiled for an hour, dominating the ball but struggling to make a killer final pass. Then, Timber opened the scoring after a stupendous first touch from Madueke's assist. That preceded the introduction of Saka, Odegaard, and Havertz, a triple sub that just completely altered the course of the game in truth. Saka made an immediate impact, pulling back a ball for Eze to sweep home and double Arsenal's advantage. Provider then turned scorer, as Saka rounded out a wonderful move that involved Odegaard and Havertz, and that devastating spell just completely ended Lille's resolve. The Gunners, who had a superior xG of 1.85 to Lille's 0.38, consequently have two wins from two in the league phase, and are seemingly coasting now towards the knockout stages, but Lille have zero points from two games and have work to do. Arsenal are back in action at Nottingham Forest on Sunday in the Premier League, while Lille look to rebound at home to Brest on Saturday. Thanks for joining us for this one folks, until next time!
