The full-time whistle sounds to signal unwanted history at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, which witnesses its first ever 0–0 draw in the Premier League between Spurs and Everton! Tottenham failed to score for a fourth league game in a row – doing so for the first time in their existence despite generating 0.64 xG in their fourth match of the season. The bulk of that came via that flurry of first-half chances early on, but Spurs too went close in the second, seeing Fernandes and Bergvall both force Pickford into action at either end of the half. Blocks from Branthwaite and co kept Kudus, Tonali and Tel at bay, but Everton took confidence from this and produced 1.17 xG themselves, with Kinsky keeping out efforts from Barry and Dewsbury-Hall as Tottenham's defence was opened up. George, Johnson and Dewsbury-Hall all had chances to find a second-half winner for the Toffees, who return to Merseyside still unbeaten with a win and three straight draws in the bag. Tottenham's wait for a first victory – and a goal – goes on, but after back-to-back draws and clean sheets respectively, Roberto De Zerbi will hope his side have something to build on, especially with Aston Villa and Manchester United coming up.
