Commentary
Manchester United fail to see out the result at Old Trafford despite taking the lead with a quarter-hour left to go, as 10-man Tottenham find a late lifeline and pull level for a 1-1 draw. After being the dominant side while failing to capitalise on their chances in the opening period, De Zerbi’s defence were finally tested after the restart, as Bruno Fernandes saw more of the ball higher up the pitch. The pressure finally told at the 73rd minute, when Cunha and Mbeumo combined for the opener, and the situation was made worse for the visitors when Bentancur was shown a red card 12 minutes after his introduction for a headbutt in the direction of Shaw. The numerical disadvantage wouldn’t stop Tottenham from making the most of their 1.56 xG (0.77 for the hosts) and finding the back of the net for the third time this season however, as Solanke’s unorthodox and somewhat fortunate header beat Lammens at his bottom corner 120 seconds into added time - which prevented a fourth defeat in six games. Manchester United are back in action on October 13, when they take on Atletico Madrid in the Champions League, before travelling to play Leeds next Sunday. Tottenham’s search for a first win of the season will go on for another nine days, when they host Coventry City. That concludes our commentary of the Premier League fixture between Manchester United and Tottenham - we hope you’ve enjoyed it!
FULL-TIME: MANCHESTER UNITED 1-1 TOTTENHAM

Gray wrestles the newly introduced Heaven to the ground on the flank just ahead of the technical areas, preventing the defender from striding forward into Tottenham’s half. The cynical tackle forces the referee into action, and he produces a yellow card as a result.

Dalot sticks out a leg but misses the ball and catches Tonali instead on the right touchline - earning the substitute full-back a yellow card.

The booked Shaw is taken off in added time, as Carrick looks to maintain the numerical advantage by sending on Heaven.

Rashford gets just about three minutes on the pitch to try and claw back a win, as Cunha makes his way to the bench.
