Playboy's Jo Garcia loves playing games

"My name is Jo Garcia. I am a Playboy model and girl gamer."

Uh, excuse me?

That's how the bio begins on Garcia's Web site.

Now, before you get it twisted, she really knows about video games.

"When I was first on the hosting circuit as a girl gamer, different outlets wanted to prove or disprove whether I was real or not," said the 29-year-old New Yorker, who writes a Gamer Next Door video games column for Playboy.com. "Many people didn't believe it until they interviewed me and realized that there was no way you could script the amount of knowledge I have for certain games."

Garcia was Playboy's Cyber Girl of the Year for 2008 and hasn't looked back. She just returned from Italy checking out Xbox 360's "Assassin's Creed 2" and from Paris checking out a new iPhone game. That was after the Madden Bowl at the Super Bowl in Miami and a PlayStation event at the NBA All-Star Game in Dallas.

"I still surprise people," she said. "It's like basketball and the phrase 'white men can't jump.' Then explain Larry Bird. I am the Larry Bird of gaming. You want to believe it's real, but won't until you see it for yourself."
